Kwasi El-President

Kwasi El comes from a Married kinship, Mom being 67 and Dad being 72. Kwasi means a male born on Sunday , it comes from the Gold Coast now known as Ghana; furthermore, Kwasi has one brother and one sister; however, he knows that the whole Asiatic race are his brothers and sisters. In addition, he has no children but wants 3 some day and currently is 29 years of age. He has a loving compassion for his community, and has dedicated his life as a living sacrificial vessel for universal unity. Love, Truth, Peace, Freedom, and Justice are his 5 pillars of light that are his guiders and protectors. “I am what I am “ is the great phrase that embodies his persona, Loving, forgiving, fearless, conscious, caring, determined, focus, joyful, outgoing, but with a warrior spirit. All things that are unknown must be uncovered, all stone throwers will be revealed.

Yvonne Smith-Treasurer

Yvonne Smith is a small business owner in the city of Lagrange Georgia.  She holds a full time job where she devotes 70% of of expertise to the banking industry.  She is currently employed with Synovus Bank and has served the banking and finance industry for 14 years.  One of Yvonne’s recent activities has been educating small developing businesses through a financial literacy program offered by her former employer Woodforest National Bank. The interaction is rewarding to her because she’s an advocate for education to children, adults and new small businesses.

Yvonne served as Secretary of the Threats Grove Baptist Church where she devoted four years of service. She is member of missionary group at the church where she serves and accommodate others as needed. 

​

Yvonne is a devoted wife of 34 years to Baron S. Smith, Sr. They have four children, Elizabeth, Joetta, Mehgan, Baron, Jr and nine grandchildren.  She has three siblings (Jean, Maxine (deceased), Regina. She loves spending time with family, traveling and meditating on God’s word.  She’s  a “sports mom” who dedicates time and love for over 10 years  to her husband, children, and grandchildren while they coached and played AAU basketball, she supports her grandchildren as they play high school and collegiate sports. She enjoys serving God, family and other. B.S Business Administration w/ Accounting and Finance, Lagrange College, Lagrange, GA

Derrean Tucker- Secretary

Derrean Tucker is the administrative host for Civilized Eyes Podcast that is streamed on youtube every week, and he is also the secretary for Ujima Tribe Inc. He has one yeear of continuing expeerience of secretarial work with the National Federation of the Blind of Georgia board. He has successfully coordinated various community events in the area of Troup County. Derrean is originally from LaGrange, Georgia and his parents are professionals in CDL truck driving and house keeping; he attended Gardner Newman Middle School and LaGrange High School between the year 2010 and 2016. Derean was declared totally blind by the age of 18 due to retina detachments in both eyes which inspired him to be interested in helping the blind and disabled get the necessary tools and information they need to achieve the goals they set out to complete independently. In order to achieve this aspiration, not counting out his willingness to network and collaborate with  those that have similar goals, Mr. Tucker has enrolled in college courses at West Georgia Technical College to obtain an undergrad associates degree in psychology and a bachelor's degree in guidance counseling after completing the 2 year undergrad course and being transfered to a 4 year university. Derrean has the skills of operating a JAWS screen reader software used by low vision and blind persons to non-visually access and interact with information displayed on the xcreens of laptop and desktop computers such as apps, web browser's and webpage's edit boxes, buttons/links, and articles etc.; skills in taking accurate secretary minutes and treasury reports in excel; skills of genarlly interpreting and speaking latin american spanish; and skills in reading and writing braille literacy 1-4. One interesting and exciting fact about Derrean is that he does not limit anyone nor himself because a disability that he or someone may have, but he holds the notion that if an individual meets the qualifications of what they're seeking they should be given the opportunity to pursue their dreams.

Megan Smith -Vice President

Mehgan Smith is a young, ambitious, vibrant aspiring community activist. She is also a Coach, trainer, and entrepreneur whom loves to motivate, nurture, and inspire using creativity and dialogue. Mehgan comes from a kinship of married parents going on 36 years resulting in  four siblings, 9 nieces and nephews, and a multitude of cousins aunts and uncles.  She has been an active member of Tribe Ujima for two and a half years and has a passion for helping the community which drives her daily. Her journey began in Atlanta, Ga. 1991, and then moved to the land of the Aniyunwiya tribe today identify as Lagrange, Ga when she was 5yrs old. She attended Unity Elementary, Gardner Newman Middle, and Lagrange High, so her love for the natives run deep. She  now serves as the Vice President of the Tribe and  is motivated more than ever to work and obtain the success.
